Members of the VANAVER CARAVAN, a Hudson Valley, NY, USA-based troupe, performing in Auroville on January 30th, at 7:30 pm at CRIPA in Kalabhumi.
Bill and Livia Vanaver, founders and artistic directors are joined by Miranda ten Broeke (company dancer/teaching artist).
The evening is an informal program of dance & music that they have collected from around the world over the past 42 years.
They are drawing upon their repertoire of dances and songs from Ireland, England, Philippines, Brazil, Israel, South Africa, Nigeria, Appalachian clog dancing from the U.S.
The Vanaver Caravan has just spent the past 3 weeks performing and teaching in Udaipur, bringing their rhythms and multi-cultural dance styles to audiences of all ages, in schools, studios and theatres.
The Vanaver Caravan creates a sense of community, sharing world dance and music. Through that, peace can be engendered.
